What a great image to commemorate the 4th of July.
You know how I feel about this image, so I won't gush on and on. I'm still just a wee bit envious of you cause you got this shot, but very happy you did.
I love this photo! It is street photography at its best. Yes, the patriotic symbolism is there but I see much more. I see a man who doesn't have the world walking past a fading America. I know he isn't likely to be homeless but it is that sense to me. I hope I didn't ruin the 4th of July feeling that you were going for.
It is a great shot with lots of implications. Being the photojournalist as ever Trish! I really enjoyed this shot and how many thoughts it makes me have. I think I would actually prefer it with the text though. Just my own preference.
